Choral Student Internship: Advanced Choral Methods

Candidates for the Choral Student Internship program engage in all aspects of choral leadership and managment of a large professional choral program in this one-year course (August to July). Students acquire hands on experience in rehearsal leadership, concert performance, score analysis, conducting auditions and working with singers of all backgrounds from professional to volunteer. Participants meet weekly with course facilitators.

Prerequisists: Applicants must hold a music Bachelor’s Degree and have aspirations for vocational choral music leadership and provide:
- three professional letters of reference
- statement of purpose essay
- scheduled interview
- successful singing audition for the Festival Singers

This course addresses the efficient use of voice for professional speakers and singers. Students will explore and apply practical voice care techniques and rationale.
Students will participate in an in-person 6-hour workshop followed by 3 online sessions.
